Aprilia and Honda received praise after undergoing the Shakedown Test MotoGP 2024. This is different from what the team experienced Yamaha who failed to impress during the trial.

The MotoGP shakedown test will take place at the Sepang Circuit, Malaysia on 1-3 February 2024. This test can only be participated by test riders, rookies and teams that receive concessions.

In the first day of testing, seven drivers were fielded along with rookie from Red Bull GASGAS Tech3, Pedro Acosta. This test resulted in Dani Pedrosa (KTM test racer) as the fastest racer.

The racer from Spain managed to record a time of 1 minute 59.233 seconds. Pedrosa was followed by two other KTM riders, Pedro Acosta and Pol Espargaro who finished second and third.

Fourth to seventh respectively were Stefan Bradl (Honda), Michelle Pirro (Ducati), Cal Crutchlow (Yamaha) and Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia). Of the four teams, Honda and Aprilia are said to have had impressive developments.

Paddock GP Report, Friday (2/2/2024) praised the innovation of the two teams in the 2024 MotoGP shakedown test. Honda has a new fin on the front of its motorbike. This innovation reminds of what was done previously by Ducati and KTM.

This Honda innovation is also reportedly part of a development project to optimize motorbike performance. Meanwhile, Aprilia itself showed a new idea by installing a carbon panel on the swing arm of its motorbike.
