Águilas del América win 157% in debut in the BMV – El Sol de México

The shares of Ollamani, which groups businesses such as the Azteca Stadium or the América soccer team, gained around 157 percent during their stock market debut on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV).

At the close of the session this Tuesday, the company’s shares reached a value of 29.53 pesos each, the equivalent of an increase of 156.78 percent compared to their starting price.

The highest trading value was 34.50 pesos during its first day on the BMV. The company is the result of the spin-off of Grupo Televisa and other businesses that also include PlayCity Casino, Editorial Televisa and Distribuidora Intermex.

“Today another page is written in the history that began with a radio station in 1930, with a great and clear responsibility to grow these businesses, to see that they have stable growth and focus on seeing for the fans and the audience that we have,” said Emilio Azcárraga Jean, executive president of the board of directors of Grupo Televisa, at a ceremony for the listing of Ollamani in the BMV.

At the same event, the president of the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV), Jesús de la Fuente, considered that the debut of the Águilas and the Azteca Stadium will mark a milestone in the stock market sector, while encouraging more broadcasters or football clubs implement similar strategies.
