Hansi Flick to FC Bayern Munich?
Hansi Flick would be available in any case and has been without a coaching job since his dismissal as national coach in September last year.
Immediately after the announcement of the separation from Tuchel, Flick was one of the most present names when it came to speculation about the new Bayern coach. A possible return of the triple coach from 2020 was seen as an obvious solution, especially since he has apparently resolved the differences with Uli Hoeneß, which probably resulted from the separation in 2021.
In the past few weeks, however, things have calmed down around Flick. According to reports, there are reservations among the Bayern leadership about a return, and the 59-year-old himself would not be particularly keen on the task in Munich. “As far as I know, Hansi Flick will no longer work in the Bundesliga and is more focused on abroad,” said Lothar Matthäus on Sky on the sidelines of Bayern’s win against Union Berlin.
He himself would trust the 59-year-old to take on the job with the German record champions, after all, Flick is an “outstanding coach and person”, but Matthäus believes that “he himself has no desire to work in the Bundesliga again on a big scale.”
The fact that Hasan Salihamidzic, the reason for Flick’s resignation at the time, no longer works at the club would not change this. “It was just a quarrel between Hasan Salihamidzic and Hansi Flick. It wasn’t much different. That was the reason because the two didn’t find a common denominator,” said Matthäus.
However, after Rangnick’s cancellation, the record international player upped the ante and campaigned for the 59-year-old to return. “Hansi Flick knows the club. Hansi Flickt is someone who has sympathy in Munich. If he has the full support of the club, why not?” Matthäus told Sky.
