With my wife, my father and a doctor we drove to the nearest hospital on Philip Island. Not a single regret because life has given me so much. Projects, many. Working to improve the conditions of those who race in the motorcycling world championship, I remain in contact with all the riders“.
Capirossi and his retirement
“I had decided to retire some time before, while I was under the bike after a fall in Assen, Holland. At that moment I thought: ‘enough, it’s time to end it’. I told everyone and it was about finishing the season. I didn’t think I’d experience a day like the one that took Marco away, terrible, very ugly. I couldn’t wait to actually put it down” he finally concluded Capirossi.
