The Villeurbanne coach spoke about his men’s defeat against Nanterre in the quarter-final of the Leaders Cup (82-78).

“In competitions like this, especially when you are the title holder, you have to know how to respond present. We still have one end of the Euroleague season to complete, one end of the championship to conclude as best we can in order to do well for the play-offs. I will take responsibility for not being able to find the right words to instill what was needed in the players. We’ve played a lot of matches recently, but that’s no excuse. There is a moment when we lost ourselves in a form of mental breakdown or frustration. We’ve only had one day off in the last two months, the organizations need to recover. We have shown some great things before, we must not forget that. We have to learn to play together, we have to relearn how to know each other with the return of the injured (including Nando De Colo, absent for almost two months).”
