Yonathan Mendoza was cruel to Sharks

An explosive offense of 22 hits, led by Keibert Ruiz and Yonathan Mendoza, gave the Tigres de Aragua an impressive 15-3 victory over the Tiburones de La Guaira, at the José Pérez Colmenares in Maracay.

Sharks, already qualified and with an extraordinary record of 10-1, did not worry about stopping the Bengalis and they scored in seven of their eight opportunities at bat. In the first third of the game they made six lines, in the second seven and in the last two more.

The youngster Keibert Ruiz was almost perfect by finishing 6-5, but the real spark plug of the game was Yonathan Mendoza who – with a couple of hits – drove in five touchdowns.
Alexi Amarista, José Pirela, Leobaldo Cabrera and Jesús Sucre tripled in the midst of that impressive offense that achieved four doubles and four triples. Together the first three drove in seven runs.

The victory went to Guillermo Moscoso (1-1), who pitched 5.0 innings of one run, two walks and one strikeout to improve his ERA to 3.00. And the setback was for Ángel Padrón, who barely completed 2.0 innings and allowed five runs, leaving his earned run average at 6.52.

Sharks used a total of six pitchers and all of them received at least one run. On the other side of the sidewalk, the Bengali bullpen shone, a two-run home run by Danry Vásquez in the eighth was the only hit that the Araguan relief team allowed in four innings.

Tigres added their fourth victory in 12 appearances and remains alive in the Round Robin.
