“When we went to sleep we had to leave the door open”

Barcelona New statements by Jennifer Hermoso have once again raised the dust. The current player of the Mexican Tigres and world champion with the Spanish national team is one of the first guests of the next season on the program of Cuatro, Planet Calleja. The footballer, who recently took part in the broadcast of the New Year’s bells on Televisió Espanyola, reveals to Jesús Calleja a new episode of the relationship that the international players had with the former national coach Jorge Vilda, from whom they asked resignation on numerous occasions.

In a preview of the episode, which will be broadcast on Monday (10.50 p.m.), Hermoso reveals one of the requests that Vilda made to the players. “When we went to sleep we had to leave the door open and wait for him to come by at night and let him talk to us,” explains the footballer in relation to a question from Calleja about one of the things that bothered the players the most. “He said it was the only time he had to talk to us personally, even though he had the whole day. Between knocking on the first door where the first players were and arriving at the last one, maybe there were players who ‘They fall asleep’, says the ex-Blaugrana.

That’s not all, because Hermoso also explains in the interview with Calleja (with whom he is touring Iceland on the occasion of the program) that when they returned from shopping, the ex-selector was waiting for them to ask them “what they had in their bag”. These are new episodes that come to light of the irreparable rift that existed between the bulk of the players and Vilda, who was removed from his position at the beginning of September by the interim president of the RFEF, Pedro Rocha, who holds the position of ‘disabled Luis Rubiales. Both the former Spanish coach and the former president are being investigated by the judiciary following the non-consensual kiss that Rubiales gave to Hermoso after the final of the last World Cup.

The footballer, who a few days ago denounced “constant harassment” before the judge investigating the case at the National Court, also explains to Planet Calleja that he knew what he was facing when he took the step of reporting Rubiales’ non-consensual kiss. “Yes, I knew that, and I’m also clear that if I hadn’t, if I had agreed to make a video then [tal com li van requerir des de la cúpula de la RFEF] saying that nothing had happened, I was very clear that I could have achieved extra sports things that would have helped me a lot. But I felt the courage, I had the strength and, above all, I felt that I was doing something that for me was the right thing. It was the only thing that prevailed at the time.”
