The American Lidl-Trek team was the strongest this Sunday during the team time trial which launched the Vuelta. She won ahead of the Dutch teams Visma-Lease a bike and SD Worx-Protime. Thanks to the victory of her team, the Italian Gaia Realini takes on the red jersey.
More powerful over the 16 kilometers of the stage which took place in the streets of Valencia, Lidl-Trek was scared in the last bend of the race with the fall of the Dutchwoman Ellen Van Dijk.
Visma-Lease a bike takes second place by nine hundredths and SD Worx-Protime takes the podium a little second behind. The French team FDJ-Suez ranks sixth, nine seconds behind.
