Victor Wembanyama Set to Participate in NBA All-Star Skills Challenge

Almost a month before the NBA All-Star Weekend, we are starting to know the candidates who will participate in the various competitions. And big surprise this Monday: we should see Victor Wembanyama in Indianapolis!

The news was released by Shams Charania of The Athletic : Wemby plans to participate in the Skills Challenge which will take place next Saturday, February 17 (at Lucas Oil Stadium, US Football stadium), during the All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.

This still requires confirmation but it is very well underway. It remains to be seen in what format Victor will be able to show his skills.

Last year, during the 2023 All-Star Weekend in Utah, we had a clash between Team Antetokounmpo, Team Jazz and Team Rookies, with three participants per team. Knowing that Wembanyama has no brother in the NBA and that it is difficult to see the League putting forward a potential Team Spurs, there is a chance that Wemby will be associated with other rookies to show his qualities as a passer, dribbler and even shooter. Unless the format changes once again on the Indianapolis side…

Historically reserved for leaders/backs, the Skills Challenge has been open for several years to interior players, who are increasingly versatile, technical and skillful. In short, it almost looks like it was made for Victor Wembanyama…
