VfB Stuttgart is the surprise team of the season. Despite two defeats at the start of 2024, VfB is currently in third place in the table. But the makers are not satisfied with that: the 24/25 season is already being planned in Stuttgart.
According to BILD information, the first transfer for next season was secretly made perfect! Yannik Keitel (23) comes to Swabia from Breisgau on a free transfer from competitor Freiburg.

Keitel is said to have completed the medical check in the first week of January and signed a contract with VfB. He can do that: His contract in Freiburg ends on June 30, 2024. The central defensive midfielder is free of charge and wants to take the next step in Stuttgart under coach Sebastian Hoeneß (41). Recently, Keitel was repeatedly stopped by injuries.

But his potential is great: among other things, he played 15 international matches for the U21 national team. With Keitel, whose market value on transfermarkt.de is 4 million euros, those responsible in Stuttgart and sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth (44) are hoping for a similar effect as with Maximilian Mittelstädt (26). The left-back had spent his entire career at Hertha BSC and needed a move for the next step. Keitel, who has been playing in Freiburg since 2011, should now do the same: from summer onwards he will wear the VfB jersey!
