Posters of the day: fear in Bouaké

The moment of truth for Cameroon: The Indomitable Lions are playing for their survival against Gambia at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké. Faced with the Gambians in a bad position (0 pts), the Cameroonians must secure a result to have hope: the 3 points would give them a very good chance of being among the best thirds, or even, in the event of a big victory, of stealing 2nd place for Guinea if it is defeated by Senegal.

Obligatory victory for Algeria: in the event of success over Mauritania, with 5 points, Algeria would reach the round of 16. Whether it is 1st, 2nd or even 3rd, which will depend on the result of the other match between Angola and Burkina Faso. A draw or a defeat, on the other hand, would put it in a very complicated situation.

Their opponent finished first while Nigeria, winner at the same time of Guinea-Bissau (1-0) was their runner-up.

Egypt in 8th, Ghana has one foot out : at the end of a stunning evening, Egypt finally qualified for the round of 16 on the wire, after their draw against Cape Verde (2-2). The Pharaohs, long third in their group B, finally got the better of Ghana in the race for second place, the Black Stars having failed to win against Mozambique in the other match (2-2 ).

The Moroccan coach was also defended by his player Nayef Aguerd. In the middle of the night, CAF announced the opening of an investigation.

Several countries qualified in turn : the monumental poor performance of Ghana at the end of the match against Mozambique (2-2) arranged several other selections: Guinea, Angola, Burkina Faso, Mali and Morocco are all officially qualified for the eighth of final. Indeed, with 4 points, they are at least assured of being ahead of Ivory Coast and Ghana.
