University Student Uses Social Media to Showcase Campus and Community at UAEMex

Making content for the social networks of the Cuautitlán Izcalli Professional Academic Unit of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMex) allows José Gerardo Fernández Cruz, a student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, to get to know his alma mater and, mainly, its campus.

“I am proud to be part of the highest house of Mexican studies, an incredible higher education institution with a fascinating, exciting history, whose students, academics, administrators and directors are distinguished by their attitude, discipline and perseverance,” he stated.

The university student said that almost half a year ago he began to create content for social networks, derived from a call published by the students who are part of the University Council of the institution and whose main purpose was to publicize the activity of the various spaces of the institution. .

“The truth is, topics related to communication have always caught my attention, so I decided to try it. I responded to the call and stayed. In the meetings I have met colleagues from other campuses such as Zumpango and Huehuetoca, as well as from the faculties of Toluca,” the university student added.

As part of this work, he indicated, our coordinators ask us for content on certain areas: interviews, photographs, short videos, videos for TikTok or even covering the events that are organized in our academic spaces.

“The content I create is very varied and allows me to get to know the space in which I study, it allows me to broaden the panorama I have about the institution and value more what we have, know and appreciate what university students contribute to society,” he said. .

The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico is unique and each member of its community contributes something special, said Gerardo, who pointed out that two students from this campus recently joined the work of creating content for the institution’s social networks.

“It is a beautiful project, a project that allows us to meet other members of this great house of studies, a great university, that we students should make the most of,” concluded José Gerardo Fernández Cruz.
