Controversy and Cuteness at the Badminton Horse Trials: Zara Tindall’s Sporty Success and Son Lucas’ Naughty Antics

The Badminton Horse Trials took place this weekend, and they were particularly controversial for several reasons. Thus debuted Peter Phillips his new girlfriend, and showed Zara Tindall is back at her sporty best on horseback. Afterwards, Princess gave Annes daughter an interview in which she looked back on the event, but it was son Lucas who captured many hearts in this video with his naughty actions.

Badminton Horse Trials

Everyone knows that the British royals are big fans of equestrian sports. But while many people mainly enjoy it from the stands, Zara Tindall prefers to climb into the saddle herself. And she does this without merit: she has won two Olympic medals and several championships to her name.

Of course, Zara could not be missed at the Badminton Horse Trials and she caused a sensation with her horse Class Affair. After her sporting efforts, Zara was briefly interviewed in the presence of her daughters Mia in Lena, and son Lucas.

Kroost steals the show

Although we are of course very interested in what Zara has to say, it is mainly her kids who capture our hearts in this video. From eldest daughter Mia who keeps an eye on things, and little Lena who shyly clings to her mother, to Lucas, who enjoys himself throughout the interview with his mother’s riding cap.

While Zara – clearly out of breath – tries to answer all the questions, we see Lucas with a Spiderman cap on his head, flapping the buckle of his mother’s helmet. Then it appears that the toddler tries to stick his finger in his mother’s ear, and the video ends somewhat abruptly. Cheeky!

In the comments of the video, viewers do not hide their admiration for Zara. “Royalty, stiff competition, toddler in hand, other children in tow. What a great example she is,” she said.

Sports education

With an Olympic rider as a mother and a rugby champion as a father, it was inevitable that Mia, Lena and Lucas would also be raised in a sporty way. So this weekend they stood along the line to encourage mom, but they would also like to be sporty themselves.

In conversation with Hello! Magazine the proud parents shared last year that they were letting their children play around for the time being. “They are only nine and four, so we have to give them some time before the pressure increases,” said Mike.

Who knows: maybe the kids will develop a love for show jumping when they see their mother in action? We wouldn’t be surprised if the next generation of Tindalls also make waves in equestrian sports in a few decades!
