REGGIO EMILIA – The Grade brought luck to Unahotels Pallacanestro Reggiana. On Sunday, which saw the splendid victory in the derby against Virtus Segafredo Bologna, at the opening of the match at the PalaBigi the important initiative which saw the collaboration between the Reggio Emilia club and the Grade Onlus Foundation, supported by the the white-red Polo Digitale Basket Pool company. The event was linked to fundraising “Let’s grow our Core team“, which sees the collaboration of the main city sports clubs with the Foundation and has the aim of supporting, with 1.3 million euros, the expansion of the Hematology department in Reggio Emilia with six more places, and the expenses for the healthcare personnel who will operate on you.

Unahotels had already been the protagonist of a moment in support of Grade on 5 January, with a visit to the Charity store in via Emilia San Pietro, while on Sunday before the match with Virtus some official basketballs were made available to the Foundation Reggiana signed by the whole team. Enthusiasts had the opportunity to take them home by making an offer to the Foundation at the Grade Onlus desks inside the PalaBigi foyer. Almost all have been assigned, but the last ones remain available at the Grade headquarters (for information tel. 0522 295059 and [email protected] ). Furthermore, during a break in the meeting, the President of the Grade Onlus Foundation, Dr. Francesco Merli, and the former patient and basketball player, Alberto Pezzarossa, came down onto the parquet to together receive the donation of 1,000 euros donated by Polo Digitale.

“We thank Pallacanestro Reggiana and Polo Digitale for their closeness to this great project of ours – states Merli – which aims to make six sub-intensive care places available to the community in the Hematology department, a big step forward also in relation to the introduction of Reggio, second center in Emilia – Romagna after Bologna, for advanced Car-T therapies. These therapies represent a fundamental innovation capable of giving a chance of treatment to patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas or lymphoblastic leukemias who have relapsed or have not obtained appreciable results after one or more conventional therapies”.
