Champion Hypo Tirol narrowly avoided their first defeat of the season in the 16th round of the Volley League regular season. At latecomers TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien, the table leaders were already 0:2 behind in sets, but still won 3:2.
Meanwhile, VCA Amstetten managed a surprise with a 3-1 home win over second-placed Hartberg. Amstetten improved to eighth place and is on course for the play-offs. Hartberg is now four points behind Tyrol.
