The team closes the Adelaide Paralympic Cycling World Cup with 9 medals

MADRID, 17 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Paralympic cycling team started the year 2024 strong and added nine medals, two of them gold, in its first major international event, the Road World Cup event that took place in the Australian city of Adelaide.

The national delegation started strongly in the time trial events in which it won five medals, led by Ricardo Ten, who took gold in his category (C1) where the current world champion clearly won with 25 seconds of advantage over the German Pierre Senska.

It was not the only victory of the day since the Galician Damián Ramos also won his C4 category time trial ahead of the Belgian Louis Clincke and the Polish Bartlomiej Bertolin, in what was the other gold that the Spanish team achieved. In C2 and C3, Luis Javier Arcega and Eduardo Santos won silver, the same prize for the tandem formed by Christian Venge and Eloy Teruel.

On the other hand, in the online tests, there were no victories, although Ten came close to it by losing in the final sprint with a Senska that took revenge in the time trial. Ramos, Arcega and Luis Miguel García-Marquina, in ‘handbikes’ (MH3) added bronze medals.
