the oasis in which Xavi Hernández isolates himself from the “cruelty” of Barça

These are not good times for Xavi Hernández. The announcement of Xavi Hernández’s goodbye after FC Barcelona’s humiliating defeat against Villarreal continues to generate a great debate. “I think I’m doing what’s best for everyone. I’ve thought about the club, the president, Deco and above all the players, who need a change of dynamic. They don’t deserve this situation. Just like that. Thinking about it with my wife, with my brother, with the staff… naturally. I don’t want to be a problem for Barcelona, that’s the last thing I want to be. The great solution is to stop being a coach on June 30. I’ve done it meditating. I had decided a few days ago, but I think it’s time,” said the Blaugrana coach after a summit held immediately after the match.

Yesterday, in the preview of the LaLiga match against Osuna, the culé coach justified his decision and denounced the “cruelty” of the culé bench. Xavi insisted that “wear and tear” comes because “they make you feel worthless every day”, that this has happened “to all the coaches” who have sat on the Barça bench and that it will also happen “to the next one.” “It’s not enjoyable, it seems like here you risk your life at every moment, and this is not quality of life. It’s cruel, and that doesn’t happen in any other club,” he reflected.

However, the still culé coach has amassed a great fortune throughout his career that has allowed him to have a millionaire real estate assets in which the jewel in the crown is his vertical mansion in Barcelona. A refuge in which the player from Terrassa isolates himself from the great tension that surrounds a club of the level of FC Barcelona.

Xavi Hernández acquired this home in the upper Diagonal for a million-dollar price in February 2014. He lived for only a few months, because he immediately went to Qatar to coach, but since he returned to Barcelona in 2021 he settled in with his wife, Núria Cunillera, and his two children. The majority of Barça footballers live in towns near Barcelona -especially in Baix Llobregat-, they prefer tranquility and privacy away from the city, but above all they look for a large plot of land on which to build their mansions. But Xavi, like Gerard Piqué, lives in a luxurious apartment on the Upper Diagonal from which he can contemplate the Barcelona Skyline.

It is a vertical mansion of 980 m2 divided into the 220 m2 house, the sports area and an addition of 600 m2 more on which is a roof terrace with a pool and a garden. The house, equipped with all the details, consists of a changing shed or a recreation area for children, according to the data provided by ‘Vanitatis’. A luxurious penthouse of which we have been able to learn some details thanks to the Instagram posts of his wife Nuria Cunillera.

But this is not the only real estate property of the Blaugrana legend. Xavi has a company called Galileu 136 SL, a company founded in 1999. The company has assets valued at more than 24 million euros, mainly properties located in various areas such as Sant Antoni de Calonge, Matapedrera, Palamós, Mataró, Viladecavalls, Deltebre, Barcelona and Sagaró. Up to 69 assets that include apartments, premises, offices, parking lots, storage rooms and houses. In 2023 he added a villa located on the Costa Brava to the list for which he paid 1.3 million euros. It is not surprising considering that it has almost 400 square meters and a plot of 1,300 square meters. Another home located in Terrasa has 247 square meters and is valued at more than 600,000 euros.

A company that, however, has also given Xavi more than one headache in recent times. And at the end of 2022, the company Galileu 136 SL registered a deficit of 1.9 million euros, which was almost three times higher than in 2021 and which has forced new contributions to be made by the partners.
