The IJF Academy is headed by Envic Galea, while Tibor Kozsla heads education and Daniel Lascau heads the entity’s sports department. The director of the International Judo Federation (IJF) Academy, Envic Galea, highlighted the impact of judo training courses around the world, contributing to the development of the sport. Galea expressed his thoughts during the opening ceremony of the Level I Judo Instructors Course that takes place at the National Judo House of the Olympic Center.

The training meeting was supported by the Olympic Solidarity program of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) and the FIP, with the coordination of the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo). We are fighting so that the Dominican Republic can become an American training center, taking into account the conditions,” said Galea, who highlighted the joint work of the COD, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the FIP, facilities and location. The Academy is likely to hold its 113th meeting.

During the meeting, the head of Fedojudo, Gilberto García, revealed that judo is getting stronger every day thanks to the training process that, at the initiative of Marius Vizer, president of the IJF, allows the training of qualified coaches. “We appreciate the organization of this course by the FIP Academy, an important point,” he said. Olympic Solidarity program coordinator Eva Durán urged meeting participants to make the most of the course.

A total of 25 instructors from seven countries participate in the course, which will run until this Saturday, and the instructor is Chikara Kariya, from Japan; Envic Galea from Malta and three-time Olympic medalist Mark Huizinga from the Netherlands, as well as Tina Trstenjak, Slavisa Bradic and Daniela Krukower.
