The point is that both teams had previously won glory in a Super Bowl, among their 56 previous editions, as well as several other National Football League franchises.
By 2024, three of the four teams in the Conference Finals also have at least one Vince Lombardi: San Francisco, Baltimore and Kansas City. Only Detroit does not boast that trophy and in fact has not even played in a ‘Super Bowl’.
Just like the Lions, there are 11 other teams that have never been NFL champions in the Super Bowl era. These are the 12 teams that have not yet won it: Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans.
