The Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA) are planning to trade forward John Collins, according to influential analyst Mark Stein.

The 26-year-old Collins spent the first six seasons of his career with the Atlanta Hawks, but last summer the Hawks traded him to the Jazz for a symbolic fee to get rid of Collins’ contract (“salary dump”). According to Stein, the cooperation between Collins and the Jazz has not been successful so far, and the Utah organization plans to replace the player already this season.

In 2021, while still representing the Hawks, Collins signed a five-year contract for $120 million. At the moment, Collins is the Jazz’s highest-paid player – the forward earns $25.3 million this season.

Collins has not proven the value of his contract with his performance on the court, averaging 13.7 points and 7.9 rebounds in 32 games this season.

Last night, “Jazz” did not find arguments against Kristaps Porzingis’ Boston “Celtics” (97:126), experiencing their 20th loss of the season. With a record of 16 wins in 36 matches, the Utah team ranks 12th in the Western Conference table.
