During the second downhill training session on the legendary Streif in Kitzbühel, two ski racers were transported away by helicopter on Wednesday. Barnabas Szollos, who was starting for Israel, fell heavily just behind the infamous mousetrap, hit his head on the icy slope, lost his helmet and slipped into the safety net. The 25-year-old was treated off the track for a long time and, like Remi Cuche, was flown out in a helicopter.
The 23-year-old Swiss, nephew of the Streif record winner Didier Cuche, had stopped his run – at first impressions because of a knee injury. There was initially no information about Szollos’ health condition.

The Streif is the most famous ski slope in the world and is considered one of the most demanding in the Alpine racing calendar.
There are two departures there on Friday and Saturday (11.30 a.m./ARD and Eurosport). The German athletes who have recently been in crisis are only considered outsiders.
