Sennheiser has made a big leap forward in the field of fitness earphones with the launch of its new Momentum Sport, presented at CES 2024 in Las Vegas. These earphones represent a fusion of cutting-edge fitness technology and Sennheiser’s renowned sound quality.
The Momentum Sport incorporates advanced sensors, including a photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor and a body temperature sensor. These sensors allow you to send biometric workout data to popular fitness apps and devices like Apple Health, Garmin Connect, Strava, Peloton, and Polar Flow. One particularly notable aspect is that the Momentum Sport are the first non-Polar earbuds to integrate with the Polar Flow app for real-time data analysis.
From a design perspective, Sennheiser has introduced a new 10mm transducer in the Momentum Sports, aimed at providing vivid sound and impressive bass, ideal for workouts. An integrated acoustic relief channel reduces the occlusion effect and annoying body noises during exercise. Furthermore, the earphones have a semi-open design that allows you to partially perceive your surroundings, with the possibility of activating a transparency mode. They also feature active noise cancellation (ANC) and an anti-wind mode.
As for durability, the Momentum Sport comes with an IP55 rating, making them resistant to sweat and dust, and are built with impact-resistant materials and ear tips that prevent earwax clogging. The charging case, with IP54 rating, supports wireless charging.
Promised battery life for the Momentum Sport is up to six hours, with three additional charges provided by the case. A 10 minute quick charge can deliver up to 45 minutes of use. The earphones are compatible with Sennheiser’s Smart Control app for customizing the sound profile and other settings, and come with a variety of ear tips and fins to ensure an ideal fit.
