Semenistaya triumphs in the ITF tournament in India

Semenistaja (WTA 142), seeded with the first number in the tournament, beat the Frenchwoman Carol Monet (WTA 189) 6-1, 3-0 in the final, in which she did not continue the match after trailing 0-3 in the second set.

Semenistaja earned 50 world ranking points for winning the tournament. The Latvian tennis player won the 15th title in ITF level tournaments.

In the first round, Semenistaja defeated the host Soha Sadika (WTA 1296) 6-2, 6-1, in the second round she won 7-6 (7:5), 3-6, 6-4 against German tennis player Lena Papadaki (WTA 504. ), in the quarterfinals, defeated the Russian Polina Kudermetova (WTA 186), who was seeded fifth in the tournament, her opponent giving up the fight when the result was 6-3, 6-7 (5:7), 5-1 in favor of the Latvian tennis player, but in the semi-finals, he beat Japanese Naho Sato (WTA 441) 6-4, 6-1.

In the doubles matches, Semenistaja paired with the Italian Camilla Rosatello were seeded with the first number and defeated the international duo Li Yujuni (Taiwan)/Eri Shimizu (Japan) 3-6, 6-2, 10:8 in the final on Saturday.
