tvOnenews.com – Saudi Arabia coach, Roberto Mancini, said that his team is not the favorite to win the 2023 Asian Cup even though they have already qualified for the round of 16.
Saudi Arabia confirmed their ticket to qualify for the last 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup after beating Kyrgyzstan with a score of 2-0 in the Group F match at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Ar-Rayyan, Monday (22/1/2024) early morning WIB.
Quoted from the official AFC website, Monday, Mancini said that based on the FIFA rankings there are other teams that are now more favored than Saudi Arabia.
“We have to look at the (FIFA) rankings and the rankings say Japan, Iran, Republic of Korea and Australia are the top four teams in Asia,” said Mancini.
“We are too far behind them. In this tournament anything can happen if you play well. We won two games and now we have to think about the next game,” he continued.
The Italian coach continued that the current focus of the Green Falcons squad is to secure victory in the final Group F match against Thailand.
