The Mexican tennis player Renata Zarazúa could not continue with the perfect start in the 2024 season, this Monday she debuted in the main draw of the Australian Open and lost.
The Italian Martina Trevisan came from behind to beat Zarazúa 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2.
In the first set, Renata was on top of the board, Trevisan did not have the best definition in her shots, unlike the Mexican who based her game on the back of the court.

For the second set the Italian recovered. Although Zarazúa took the advantage by keeping the Italian in the back of the court, Martina gained confidence as the minutes progressed, equalized and beat the Mexican 6-4, to define it in a third set.
In the third set Renata was completely eliminated by her rival, although Trevisan received medical assistance because she felt pain in one of her legs when the duel was 2-1 in favor of the Italian, the injury did not prevent Martina from continuing with her power to close the set 6-2.
In this way, the Mexican is eliminated in the first round of the Austrlian Open, where she had already achieved the feat of qualifying for the main draw from the qualys.
Martina Trevisan in the second round will face the winner of the duel between the Chinese Lin Zhu and the French Oceane Dodin.
Despite this result, Zarazúa had great news this Monday by reaching 97th place in the WTA ranking.
