It is with immense sorrow that the family announces Guy’s passing surrounded by family on January 1st, 2024 at the Burlington Joseph Brant Hospital in his 91st year.
Guy, beloved husband for 68 years of Jacqueline (née Carriere). Treasured father to Marc (Denise Bradette), Louise (Howie Wark), Lynn, and Sylvie (Rod Anderson). Loving grandfather to Raymond (Michelene Deck), Brianne (Adam Hewitt), and Michal Jez. Great grandfather to Jaxson Tremblay and Quinn Hewitt. They all held a special place in his heart.
Pre-deceased by his mother Rose-Alice (Gravel) and Albany Tremblay, brother Rolland (Elvine O’Malley) and sisters Yolande (Rosaire Bouliane), Céline (Michel Tremblay) and Clairette. Leaves behind Pauline (Laurent Bergeron), Bérangere (Bertrand Tremblay), Russell (Madeleine Tremblay), Andrée (Jean-Guy Turgeon).
Guy was born in St. François-de-Sales, Lac St. Jean, Quebec on February 13th, 1933. He arrived in Cochrane at the age of 18, where he met Jackie and raised his family. He spent most of his working career in the grocery business, until finally becoming owner and operator of Carriere’s Supermarket Ltd.
He was an active member of the community; member of the Board of Trade, cross country ski club, and badminton club. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and going for long walks. Guy loved to laugh, play games, and watch the Montreal Canadiens.
Forever remembered by family and friends.

He leaves to mourn his sisters Pauline (Laurent Bergeron), Bérangère (Bertrand Tremblay), Andrée (Jean-Guy Turgeon) and his brother Russell (Madeleine Tremblay).
