Venezuelan Catchers Shine in Offensive Departments in Major League Baseball

Venezuela has an outstanding crop of catchers in the Major Leagues and after a month of season they lead the catchers in several offensive departments.

Three of the catchers who have had a good first month with the bat are: Salvador Pérez, William Contreras and Willson Contreras.

All three catchers rank first, second and third in OPS. Salvador Perez is at .990, William is at .988 and Willson is at .950.

Salvador Pérez has had a great month of April. The Kansas City catcher is first in home runs (7), runs batted in (26), slugging (.592) and OPS, among catchers.

This is the first time in his career that Pérez has managed to drive in 25 or more runs. in the first month of the season. He also set a career-high most home runs in April in his career.

Pérez is third in MLB in RBIs and seventh in MLB OPS.

The Contreras brothers with similar numbers

William and Willson Contreras have left quite similar numbers in the first month of the campaign. The brothers from Puerto Cabello have been the spark plug in their respective teams in the Central Division.
