Quentin Halys knocked out in the 2nd round of the Australian Open by Sebastian Korda

Difficult winner in four sets (4-6, 7-6 [5]7-5, 7-6 [2]) of South African Lloyd Harris in the first round of the Australian Open, Quentin Halys will not go further. The 110th player in the world logically suffered the law of Sebastian Korda (26th and seeded 29) this Wednesday. He lost in three dry sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-4) and barely more than two hours of play.

Dominated in the vast majority of baseline rallies, Halys absolutely had to hold up in his service games. The mission was not accomplished. Even though he hit 19 aces, his 56% first serves did not protect him enough. Corollary, he only won 35% of the points on his second ball. Largely insufficient to worry an extremely solid Korda, who obtained 17 break points and converted three of them. Halys let his only opportunity slip away during the first set.

Korda will face Andrey Rublev (seeded 5) in the third round, winner by the same score from Chris Eubanks, in 1h39.
