PSV will not emerge from the cup cracker unscathed: a serious problem looms

PSV did not emerge unscathed from the cup cracker against Feyenoord (1-0 loss). Rik Elfrink reports on behalf of the Eindhovens Dagblad that Malik Tillman has suffered minor complaints. That suits PSV poorly, as the leader of the Eredivisie does not have a lot of midfielders.
Trainer Peter Bosz has been without Joey Veerman for some time due to an injury and he also does not have access to Ismael Saibari for the time being. The latter has advanced to the next round of the Africa Cup with Morocco.
Against Feyenoord, the midfield was therefore formed by Jerdy Schouten, Guus Til and Tillman. However, the latter did not come out of the match in De Kuip completely armpit-fresh. The American was substituted halfway through the game.
Elfrink writes that Tillman’s complaints are ‘not serious’, although it is questionable whether the midfielder will make it to next Saturday’s home match against Almere City. If that doesn’t work, Bosz will have to work on his diaphragm again.
Against Feyenoord, Tillman was replaced by Mauro Júnior. However, the left-footed player was often used as a wing defender by PSV in the past. Another option for Bosz, Isaac Babadi, was not included in the match selection.
Vertesse
Yorbe Vertessen is expected to have played his last match for PSV. The attacker is about to make the switch to 1. FC Union Berlin, where a contract is ready until mid-2028.
Bosz had set an important condition that he wanted Vertessen to play in the cup match against Feyenoord. If PSV and Union have completed the final details, the Belgian’s transfer will be a fact.
