The 2024 season of the Alhama de Murcia Slot Club has begun with a group C race contested by eleven drivers who have taken control of vehicles from the 80s/90s and in which the Jaguar driven by Pedro has won.
The green light at the exit traffic light illuminated this Saturday at five in the afternoon. However, the drivers had already arrived an hour earlier to tune up their vehicles and share the minutes before the race with the rest of the competitors in a relaxed atmosphere.
The pole, as is usual in the last races, went to Pedro. Next, two Porche 956 belonging to Álvaro and Fran were placed. And closing the first line was Guti.
After the pole dispute, the race began, divided into three rounds.
Pedro’s Jaguar won with ease, while Fran and Álvaro fought for second place. Their duel was not resolved until the last round, where Fran won. Third place went to Álvaro, who almost lost it to Guti.
In the middle of the race, great battles were fought between the drivers Guillermo, Medrano, Fran Jr and Soto, who were classified in that order.
And in the back, the duel was carried out by the young Pedrito, Adrián and the newcomer Martin.
The start of the season leaves a great race. The next one will be on Saturday, February 3, to which all people interested in this type of competition or who want to experience this type of emotions up close are invited.
The Alhama de Murcia Slot Club is open to new members and anyone who likes Scalextric. It has its headquarters at 9 Río Ebro Street, which is usually open in the afternoons. Those interested also contact the Youth Department.
