The Palau d’Esports Catalunya will host, this weekend and for the first time, the Campionat de Catalunya de Tir amb Arc for indoor teams. It is the first time that the city of Tarragona holds a team archery championship in an indoor venue.
The event, organized by Club Tau with the collaboration of Tarragona Esports, has broken its record of participants, bringing together a total of 38 teams from all over Catalonia. More than 150 archers will participate in this championship that will take place on Saturday the 13th from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and will continue on Sunday, January 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The presentation of trophies will take place at the end of each of the days. The event is open to all citizens who wish to enjoy it live, admission is free.
«Tarragona will be the epicenter of archery this weekend, a team and indoor competition that the city is hosting for the first time and that will bring together more than 200 people, including athletes, coaches and companions. All of them will join the amateur public that will come to the Palau d’Esports,” said the Councilor for Esports and Sports Tourism of the Tarragona City Council, Berni Álvarez.
The councilor thanked the entire organizing team for their work and, in particular, the Tau Club “for making this competition possible at the Palau d’Esports Catalunya.”

The last Catalan championship held in Tarragona, in this case outdoors, took place last July, when nearly 200 archers competed for the first time at the shooting range located in the Sant Salvador neighborhood. It was the 73rd Campionat de Catalunya of outdoor archery in which all divisions participated: Recorbat, Compost, Nu, Traditional and Longbow.
