Havana Cuba. – The members of the last Olympic team, Omar Almeida and Yerisbel Miranda, dominated the final phase of the 2023 Cuban Chess Grand Prix Tour, which closed the circuit launched last year.

The Havana native won with eight points out of a possible ten in a defining event in which double-round matches were called between winners of the regular calendar, and the duels were 3 minutes plus a 2-second increase after each move.

Almeida only lost on one occasion to Jorge Marcos Gómez from Matanzas, a man who took second place on the podium with six points, while third place was Havana’s Dylan Berdayes.

Miranda achieved the title by completing 5 points out of a possible 6 and was escorted by Roxángel Obregón from Villa Clara and Yoana González from the capital, thanks to their accumulated three and two lines, respectively.
