Not Available: A Night of Reunions, Music, and Good Vibes in Barcelona

DATE: JANUARY 20, 2024
PLACE: SALA LA NAU (BARCELONA)
DISTRICT ATTORNEY: BKKM

Not Available have been and always will be one of my top 10 bands, perhaps because it was the first concert I attended when I was 16 in 2003 and I developed a special affection for them, or because they were in practically all the parties that Punkorlatex, RockZone or HFMN organized. . Together with two local groups, No Flag Patriots and Bro Hymns, the event began with a surprising total of 237 advance tickets sold (not even the most optimistic person expected it), adding at the end of the night a total of 320 attendees. A memorable night was palpable…

No Flag Patriots He opened the evening with his new vocalist, warming up an audience that was already more than warm and ready to have a good time. Infectious songs like ‘One Of Us’, ‘Welcome To My Digital World’ and ‘Broken’ from their 2021 EP, sounded wonderful thanks also to the attitude of the band who even dared with a punk rock version of ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele.

After a short break, the expected performance of Not Available, with the incombustible Dragan Jordanov at the controls, giving himself 200%, as always. We could discuss the technique, but before a 90-minute concert master class nonstop like the one experienced, it is better to keep your mouth shut and not be smart. They played 20 songs on pinion, covering almost their entire discography, including the great songs from Resistence Is Futile, V8, 5 Aces y Fezzo.

Starting with ‘What You Don’t Know’, ‘Welcome’, ‘Punkrock Star’ and ‘Better Than A Dream’, the audience was already crowd surfing from the first minute of their performance and giving it their all, cell phones, people falling and rolling on the floor, remembering and enjoying a band that had not set foot in Barcelona for more than 6 years. They came for it, and put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen from them. Hymns incessantly, giving everything with ‘Pub On Mars’, ‘Baseball Cap’, ‘Forever Young’, ‘Green Car’… until reaching the climax that could be considered their anthem, ‘Random’ (with a bald head included) to finish off the show with Little Lunatic.

They finished off the night Bro Hyms, with its wide repertoire of covers of the best-known bands on the scene: Bad Religion, The Offspring, The Interrupters, Nofx, No Use For A Name or as a novelty, with ’99 RedBallons’ by Nena via Goldfinger and the collaboration of Dragan . Their two singers Silvia and Ivy (the latest addition to the band) have given the band a boost and a very special touch, now we would recommend that they stop for a bit and get new covers because it is time, we have seen them many times, they always do. They embroider but they should not burn.

The night ended at Dixi724, with Laura & Rockzone DJs entertaining a after party which was attended by almost half of the people who had been at the concert. In short: a night of 10 with many reunions, music, partying, but above all full of respect and good vibes.
