OLYMPIC GAMES – In this Olympic year, Emmanuel Macron visited Insep athletes this Tuesday, January 23. During this unprecedented ceremony of wishes to athletes and organizers of the Paris-2024 Games, double Olympic champion judoka Clarisse Agbegnenou, mother of little Athena since June 2022, took the opportunity to slip the president a personal request.

“I would like to have my daughter with me in the Olympic village to feel good and be at full strength in my final stretch of these Olympic Games”asked the 31-year-old six-time world judo champion to the Head of State during his visit, without knowing the person’s response.

“Afterwards, I told him that we still had needs on the issue of health, family, on a lot of things”added the gold medalist in Tokyo to our colleagues at RMC Sport. “I hope to see him a little beforehand to say a few more words to him. »

Emmanuel Macron puts back a little “healthy pressure”

Clarisse Agbegnenou made her return to international competition at the World Championships in Doha last May after maternity leave. She then won a sixth world title, less than a year after giving birth to her first child.

“Today, I am a mother. I take care of my daughter, which leaves me much less time for preparation. That said, I make sure to organize myself well to be 100% at the time of the Olympics”explained the judokate this Tuesday in a chat with readers of Monde.

During his visit to Insep this Tuesday, Emmanuel Macron also gave a little “healthy pressure”, according to his own formula, on the tricolor delegation. He thus judged “more attainable than ever” the objective he set for French athletes to reach the “Olympic Top 5” of the countries with the most medals at the Games in six months.

“I don’t want to put excessive pressure, I have put it every time, I will continue to put it. It’s healthy pressure. But then I trust everyone”he said. “It’s a question of will, it’s all in the head, pain is information. Bring home as many medals as possible but manage the pressure, the influx is at the beginning of August that you need to have it”added the president.
