Neris Struggles in Postseason with Astros After Strong Regular Season Performance

The 34-year-old right-hander made seven appearances in the postseason, but could not be at the same level as in the regular season. He allowed six earned runs in 8.1 stretches of work with the Astros in the ALDS and ALCS.

Neris spent the first eight years of his career with the Phillies, serving as closer from 2017 to 2021, before signing a two-year, $17 million deal with the Astros in December 2021.

In 10 seasons in the Majors, the Dominican has a lifetime ERA of 3.24, WHIP of 1.15 and a rate of 11.2 strikeouts per nine innings.
