NBA, Ryan Rollins accused of seven shop thefts, Washington cuts him immediately

The news of Ryan Rollins cut by the Washington Wizards had taken everyone a bit by surprise: what interest did one of the worst teams in the NBA have in getting rid of one of the few youngsters with some potential to develop in the rest of the season? The website The Athletic explained the reason for what happened last Monday: according to the documents obtained, Rollins is accused of stealing on seven separate occasions between September and November from a Target supermarket in the state of Virginia for a total of just under $1,000 in groceriesbody products and candles. Rollins made just over $1 million with the Golden State Warriors last year ed he was under contract for 1.7 with the Wizards after being included in the summer exchange that brought Jordan Poole to the capital and Chris Paul to the bay, but if the accusations are confirmed he risks seeing his NBA career put in danger. From the point of view of the law, however, he should get by with little: stolen goods worth less than $1,000 classifies his felony as a minor in the state of Virginia. The first hearing is scheduled for the beginning of February and the player has not yet declared himself regarding what happened, with the lawyers who did not want to comment on The Athletic’s news.
