NBA Announces Two-Night Draft Event: Changes and Implications

Without prior notice, the NBA has announced through Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN that the next draft night will be held over two nights. A ceremony will take place on June 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where the first round will be held in the traditional way. The next day, the 27th, the event will move to the studios of ESPNlocated in the Maritime District of Manhattan (South).

For now, the NBA has not expressed itself in the first person. Although it is expected to do so today. Talks about the change have been going on for some time and were recently signed. The first round will continue to have 5 minutes between elections, while the second will expand from 2 to 4 due to advertising issues.

In addition to the obvious television interests, the extension of the second round will give more room for strategies and movements in the 24 hours that separate them, according to Wojnarowski. Apparently, in recent years the teams had shown frustration with the chaos and the little time they had to weave plans on which their immediate future could end up depending.
