NBA All-Star Weekend to Feature Historic Stephen vs. Sabrina 3-Point Challenge

Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu will face off at NBA All-Star Weekend on February 17 in Indianapolis. The matchup, billed as “Stephen vs. Sabrina,” will go down in history as the first NBA vs. WNBA 3-point challenge ever.

In a culmination of long-running speculation, two basketball aces, Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu, are about to have an eye-catching 3-point contest. The challenge was announced by Ionescu on social media last July. Curry then signaled his willingness to face this duel.

“Now I have to break Sabrina’s record,” Curry announced during an “ESPN” interview. “After she exploded with 37 points at All-Star Weekend, I now have a goal in mind. We definitely have to sort this out to see who the best three-point shooter is.” Finally, the long-awaited wish of these two shooters will come true.

The event will follow the usual rules of the 3-point competition, but with an interesting variation. Curry will use an NBA ball and NBA 3-point lines, while Ionescu will use a WNBA ball and WNBA 3-point lines.

NBA All-Star Weekend hasn’t had quite the same popularity in recent years. The game returns to an East versus West format after the experiment in which players picked their own teams failed.
