The archer of the Livornesi Archers Company Matteo Panariello was awarded the title of Absolute Italian Champion 2023 in the classroom Visually Impaired 1 (V. I. 1) at the National Championships which took place in Florence. Even though Matteo trained very little over the last year due to study commitments, he gritted his teeth and showed up on the shooting line determined to give his best.
Ranked second in the Class Championship phase with 373 points, behind the very strong team Barbara Contini 432 points of the San Bernardo Archers (MI), in the semi-final of the individual clashes for the Absolute title, eliminated with a peremptory 6 a 0 Maria Salaries of the Arcieri Poggibonsi (SI) and in the final for the gold he replicated the 6 to 0 against Beard Contini who had surpassed him in the qualifying round.
Great test of character from the champion from Livorno who adds another laurel to his prestigious national and international career.
