The former French number one will compete in the final of an ATP 75 Challenger in Thailand.

After being one of the best players in the world a few years ago, notably obtaining a tenth place in the ATP, Lucas Pouille is now fighting on the secondary circuit.

At 29, the Frenchman is trying to get back on track. After having signed a superb performance by leaving qualifying and reaching the second round at Roland Garros, he must also battle on the secondary circuit, as a challenger, in order to regain a ranking allowing him to qualify for more prestigious tournaments.

This week, the Northerner was in Thailand to compete in the Nonthaburi Challenger 75. He managed to reach the final, at the expense of the South Korean Hong Seong-chan, 273rd ATP, in two sets (6-3, 6-3). In the event of victory in the tournament against Valentin Vacherot (280th), he would gain 70 places in the ATP rankings. And, above all, his first title in five years.
