Jakarta

Valentino Rossi was the first person Luca Marini contacted when he wanted to move to Honda. Why?

Luca Marini doesn’t seem to want to waste the empty Repsol Honda seat left by Marc Marquez. Valentino Rossi’s younger brother quickly contacted Repsol Honda. But before deciding, he had first contacted his older brother to ask for his opinion.

“To be honest, the first person I called was my brother. First of all because he is the head and owner of the team. He is also someone who is smart and has a lot of experience,” said Marini in the Por Orejas Podcast as quoted GPOne.

To Rossi, Marini explained what was on his mind as well as his dream of being able to defend the factory team. According to the rider with motorbike number 10, being able to move to Repsol Honda is a brilliant opportunity. According to him, currently he is the right racer to fill the position left by The Baby Aliens.

“MotoGP is a difficult sport with tight competition. There is not only Ducati, there are also KTM, Aprilia, Yamaha and everyone is trying to improve their bikes. It’s not easy, but we have to work better than our rivals. It’s not easy, but I believe we have the potential and the right people to do that,” he said again.

Marini previously revealed that he really had a desire to join Honda. Because, Marini considers Honda to be the best in history.

“The numbers and statistics speak for themselves. This is a very special moment at the moment, but I am confident that we have the strength to come back soon. I will try to put all my input and energy into this project and I am confident that if we find the right direction “That’s right, we will have the strength to be at the top for many years to come,” he said.

Luca Marini has been contracted for two years by Honda Racing Corporation. For the initial stages with the Honda RC213V, Marini will adapt. Marini has tried out the Honda RC213V motorbike at the Valencia test some time ago. He immediately shot to 10th place.
