“Lielvārde/FatPipe” can take over the leaderboard – Floorball – Sportacentrs.com

“Lielvārde/FatPipe” – “Sparta team Automaailm” (at 15:00 in Lielvārde and Sportacentrs.com)

Having started the tournament with two losses, the Lielvārde floorball players won the next four matches, thereby entering the fight for victory in the regular tournament. In the last game, which was played at the beginning of the month, they lost against this season’s uncomfortable opponents in Cēsis. Despite that, the team with 13 points accumulated in seven games is in second place in the table, two points behind “Rubenes”, who have played one match more. Therefore, a win today can put the team at the top of the table. In Cēsis, Juris Sandis Jēgers (2+3) was the top scorer in the team with three points, while Armands Savins was the best scorer in the tournament with 9 (7+2) points. He is followed with six points by Oskars Tūtans (3+3) and Kārlis Stukāns, who earned all points for assists.

The Tallinn team played its last game yesterday evening, when “Jogeva SK Tahe/Olivia” lost 5:6 in extra time in the main match between two Estonian teams at home. Less than four minutes before the end of regular time, the Tallinn team equalized, but in the last seconds they failed to win, not realizing a penalty kick. The lost points in the match with Jogeva’s team can prove to be very expensive in the fight for a place in the Final Four. Currently, “Sparta” is in third place with 12 points in eight games, but in the remaining two matches – today in Lielvārde and/or on February 11 in Valmiera, it is definitely necessary to win some more points in order to keep the place among the four leading teams. Gerdo Unga was the most productive player with three points against the team from Yogyakarta, who had only 6 (1+5) points in the season. Meanwhile, Tanel Kasenurms is by far the most effective, with 22 (12+10) points. Ken Pan added 13 (8+5) points, while Kaspar Kalion managed to collect 11 (5+6) points.

In the first round match between the two teams in Tallinn, the Latvians took a 3-0 lead in the first period. Although the home team got closer to 2:3 and 3:4, at the end of the game, the majority of goals and throwing the ball into the empty goal of the competitors gave a rather convincing 6:3 victory to “Lielvārde/FatPipe”. Savin scored 2+2 in that game, but Stukans earned half of his assists in Tallinn. Nobody scored more than one point for Estonians in that match.

Today the game will start at 15:00 at Lielvārde Sports Hall and the video of the match will also be broadcast live on Sportacentrs.com. The match will be served by a pair of judges, Aivars Mālins and Mārtiņš Larinovs.
