Edmonton in the Conference League final

The Edmonton Oilers made it to the finals of the Western Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Oliers won 3-2 at the Vancouver Canucks on Monday evening (local time) and won the “best of seven” series in the second play-off round 4-3.

Edmonton took a 3-0 lead in the second period with goals from Codi Ceci (22′), Zach Hyman (26′) and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (36’/PP). In the final third, the Oilers lost control of the game and had to accept two goals from Conor Garland (52nd) and Filip Hronek (56th).

The Oilers now face the Dallas Stars in the Conference Finals. Four wins are needed to reach the Stanley Cup final. In the East, the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers will determine the second finalist.
