Dominican Adrián Beltré was elected to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame and became the nineteenth Latin American player to enter the Temple of the Immortals of Baseball.

In total, in 21 seasons with the Dodgers, Mariners, Red Sox and Rangers, Beltré had 3,166 hits, 477 home runs and the third-highest WAR mark (93.5), according to Baseball-Reference, of any third baseman in history.

At 44 years old, he joins a select list in which 18 other Latin Americans appear alongside him.

Since Puerto Rican Roberto Clemente became the first player from the region to enter the Niche of the Immortals, little by little Latin America has claimed prominence for its players.

The Cubans Martín Dihigo (1977), José de la Caridad Méndez and Cristóbal Torriente appear on the list; both in 2006, who were enthroned for their excellent contributions in the Negro Leagues, where they saw action long before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in 1947.

Here is the list of Latinos in Cooperstown by country.
