All good things must come to an end and so the Knicks series is over. A logical outcome since Dallas led for the entire match, pushing its lead up to 21 points ahead. Without Luka Doncic still injured in his ankle, the Mavs relied on a simply wonderful Kyrie Irving. 44 points and 10 assists for Irving, 15/26 shooting and easily a good Top 10 highlight just for his personal actions. Seeing him score in the middle of three Knicks, we said to ourselves that nothing could happen in Dallas, not when Kyrie displays this kind of level.

However, the Mavs still got a big scare. While they led by 20 points in money time, Jason Kidd’s players saw New York come back strong in the retro. Kyrie Irving regularly doubled, the Dallas attack began to falter and the Randle-Brunson-Anunoby trio pushed. All that remained was for Irving to finish the job on the line to complete a magnificent evening on his part. This is his highest point total since joining the Mavs. We will also not forget the big evening of Tim Hardaway Jr. (32 points), imperial to assist Kyrie in scoring and who made big passes when the leader was blowing on the bench to keep his team at a good distance on the scoreboard.
