Kumstát falls short in thrilling Australian Open junior final.

“I played an incredible match, but I just couldn’t make it to the winning end in the end. Even so, I am very happy. I appreciate the fact that I was able to play in Australia,” said Kumstát the Tenisovýsvět.cz website.

Kumstát won the first set thanks to a break in the fourth game. In the second set, both tennis players held serve until the shortened game, which the Japanese won 7:2. In the decisive third set, Kumstát lost his serve in the third game, but was able to equalize immediately. The decision came at 5:5, when Kumstát did not lead 40:0, Sakamoto later worked out four break points and used the last one. He then closed the duel with a clean submission game.
