Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones admitted that Juergen Klopp’s decision made the club sad. However, this should not hinder the Reds’ mission for the remainder of this season.

Klopp surprisingly announced his departure at the end of this season, aka two years before the remainder of his contract. Klopp admitted that he was tired of training and wanted to rest first.

This has definitely made the entire Liverpool club and fans gloomy, considering that Klopp has played such an important role in restoring the club to glory in the last 8.5 years.

It is acknowledged that this relatively sudden decision has made the Liverpool players sad. However, that doesn’t mean they will continue to lament because there are still targets to pursue for the remainder of this season.

“Yes, just carry on (going forward after Klopp decides to leave). We have targets to achieve and nothing has changed. This is a sad day for the whole club, but he is an adult and we respect his decision,” Jones was quoted as saying. BBC Sport.

Klopp’s departure actually made Jones et al. as motivation to be able to win the four titles available until the end of the season. Liverpool have advanced to the Carabao Cup final next month.

They are also at the top of the Premier League and advanced to the Round of 16 of the Europa League. Liverpool have just qualified for the Fifth Round of the FA Cup after beating Norwich City 5-2, Sunday (28/1/2024) evening WIB.

“It’s clear that Klopp’s departure is a motivation. We have had a mission since the start of the season and we will be even more enthusiastic about pursuing it after the news emerged.”
