Kansas City Chiefs with Mahomes and Detroit Lions win

The Kansas City Chiefs around quarterback Patrick Mahomes have once again made it to the play-off semifinals in the National Football League (NFL) and now have the chance to qualify for the big one again next Sunday (9 p.m. on RTL and DAZN). Final to qualify for the world’s most important football title.

The current Super Bowl winner narrowly defeated the slightly favored Buffalo Bills with 27:24 points on Monday night. Head coach Andy Reid’s team also benefited from a missed field goal by Buffalo kicker Tyler Bass 107 seconds before the end of the game, which equalized the score and would have brought the game into overtime.

But the 26-year-old Bass, actually a reliable shooter, moved several meters to the right in windy, damp conditions at Bills Stadium. “We wanted to make a statement,” Mahomes said after the game, in which tight end Travis Kelce scored two touchdowns.

The playmaker particularly praised the fans, who had had to wait a long time to take part in the semi-finals again and who now created an extraordinary atmosphere, in a TV interview on the field immediately after the final whistle: “They are simply the best, look around.
