Italy Shines at European Skating Championships: Guarise and Beccari Take Gold in Artistic Pairs Event

Italy dominates the European Skating Championships in Kaunas, Lithuania: Matteo Guarise and Lucrezia Beccari won gold in the artistic pairs competition while the other Italian pair Rebecca Ghilardi and Filippo Ambrosini won bronze. Silver for the Georgians Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava.


Race full of twists and turns. Third at the end of the short program Wednesday, Beccari and Guarise earned a score of 199.19 points thanks to a no-fail performance in the free skate, skated to the music of the musical “Cats.” Silver went to the Georgians Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava (196.16 points) who had finished in first place yesterday.


In the absence of the Russian skaters, excluded due to the war in Ukraine, Italy achieved a second podium with the bronze of Rebecca Ghilardi and Filipo Ambrosini (195.68).


The ranking from the day before was completely turned upside down as the German favorites Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin, second yesterday, were relegated to fifth place.
