Independiente Santa Fe Continues to Bolster Roster for 2024 Season with Addition of Frank Castañeda

The cardinal team continues to hire players for 2024.

After an important list of departures, Independiente Santa Fe set about the task of bringing in high-level players and has already made up to 11 hires so far in the market.

Well, this Friday the ‘León’ confirmed the arrival of Frank Castañeda, a Colombian forward with extensive experience in Europe and who returns to the country to play for the first time in the Betplay League.

“How about the Three Kings gift? A lot of quality for the León! “This is how Frank Castañeda moves,” the cardinal team mentioned on their social networks.

Castañeda, who plays as a striker, began his career at Orsomarso between 2016 and 2017 and then made the step up to European football at Senica in the Slovak League.

From there he jumped to Sheriff Tiraspol of the Moldovan League where he had an important step scoring 42 goals in 73 games and was key for the team from that country to play in the Champions League.

In fact, Sheriff had a memorable time in the Champions League that year as they beat Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu 1-2, a duel in which Castañeda was a first baseman like his compatriot Danilo Arboleda.

After his great time in Moldova, Castañeda would head to football in Poland where he played for Warta Poznan and then for Radomiak.

Finally, before returning to Colombia after many years, he played soccer in Thailand last year where he was with Buriram United.

It is worth noting that with Castañeda, Santa Fe reached eleven hires. The rest are: Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo, Marcelo Ortiz, Daniel Moreno, Daniel Torres, Elvis Perlaza, Juan Pablo Zuluaga, Juan Cruz Esquivel, José Eric Correa, Francisco Chaverra and Santiago Cuero.
